How to Make Earrings, Simply

My daughter Kathe made these earrings for me about 10 years ago when she was 14 or 15 years old. This photo does not do them justice. They dangle from my ears with perfect balance, each seeming to swirl in harmony with the other.

How did she do that?

She started by snipping pieces of wire. Then she hammered the wires flat at one end, striking them with an antique hammer, using an antique iron as her anvil.

She threaded one bead onto each wire. Then came the hardest part. She twisted one clockwise and the other counter-clockwise, making matching swirls. Lastly, she created the hooks that attach the earrings to the earwires, aiming the each earring to make the pair balance. Sounds easy? Try it.

Kathe has a knack. She can create what she sees in her mind's eye. One wire and one bead. Simple. Try it!

Good job, Kathe! I like when these posts bring back family memories.

You are too kind, Mama. It is fairly simple, though. You are making me blush :)
